SCHOOL PROGRAMS 1998-1999

GETTING STARTED

  • The Museum’s school programs are offered Tuesdays to Fridays from 29 September to 18 December 1998, and from 5 January to 25 June 1999. (Also offered on Mondays in May and June.)
  • Consult the selection of school programs offered by the Museum and choose one or more that best suit your interests. A school program lasts between 75 and 90 minutes and accommodates a maximum of 30 students. Or, combine activities and programs and stay for the whole day!
  • Please make your reservation at least three weeks in advance by calling 613 993-4264. Upon receiving your reservation, we will send you a confirmation letter. Please, bring this confirmation letter with you on the day of your visit. If you must cancel your visit, please give us as much advance notice as possible. Your co-operation in respecting this request is appreciated.
  • School program fees are $1.75 per student (including GST) for a group of 15 or more. Minimum charge: $26.25. Six accompanying adults per group are admitted free. Fees can be paid by cheque made payable to the National Aviation Museum.
  • The Museum educator assigned to your group will call you before the visit to review the details of your scheduled program. Let us know of any special requirements, such as learning or behavioural problems, physical disabilities, and vocabulary and language levels.
  • To get the most from your visit, you may wish to prepare your class in advance. Have your students read and talk about aviation, carry out research, prepare questions or draw pictures. For immersion classes or younger students, it is helpful before the visit to introduce any new vocabulary and technical terms that will be used during the program. Please inquire about our Activity Kit or visit our new section The Walkway of Time—Highlights in the History of Canadian Aviation, a powerful resource for you and your students.
  • Teachers are invited to browse through Aeronautica, the Museum’s giftshop, for educational materials on aviation.
  • There is a place for students to eat their lunches.
