3 National Museums—Best Bets for
March Break

The Canada Agriculture Museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum and the Canada Science and Technology Museum are inviting everyone to celebrate their March Break time off with great hands-on experiences that all ages will enjoy! The Museums are great venues for all weather predictions and offer free parking. This year, our special programming and activities include:

Barnyard Break
at the Canada Agriculture Museum

From February 26th through March 31st, 2011

The Canada Agriculture Museum reopens to the public with its annual Barnyard Break. Take in a wide variety of demonstrations from Butter Making and Tasting to Cooking with Maple Syrup. Children can get creative with a winter-themed craft and new this year; children are invited to submit their concepts for the Farm of the Future contest. Come enjoy the demonstration farm in the heart of the capital at the Canada Agriculture Museum this March Break. Programming is on all month long.

All about Friendship at the
Canada Aviation and Space Museum

February 28 to March 4 and March 14 to 18

The International Space Station is all about working together. Sixteen countries, including Canada, are participating in its assembly and their astronauts live and work as teams performing experiments aboard the station. Bring your own team and experience the world of space through fun activities and demonstrations that the whole family will enjoy!

Build It or Break It! at the
Canada Science and Technology Museum

February 28 to March 4 and March 14 to 18

Become a junior builder at the Canada Science and Technology Museum. Investigate the forces that determine whether a building is built to last or doomed to collapse. Visit the Museum’s skyscraper lab and test a miniature tower against wind and earthquakes. Create a model of your dream house in the architecture workshop or search for simple machines among the Museum’s collection.

The Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation comprises three Ottawa-based museums: the Canada Agriculture Museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum and the Canada Science and Technology Museum, all of which boast a rich and varied collections of Canada’s scientific and technological heritage as well as exhibit and interpret current and future discoveries and innovation.
