Canadian Aeronautical Preservation Association Conference – 2010 To be Held in Canada’s Capital Region

Ottawa—The Canada Aviation and Space Museum is pleased to host the annual conference of the Canadian Aeronautical Preservation Association (CAPA), from October 13 to 16, 2010.

The Canadian Aeronautical Preservation Association conference is an annual meeting which focuses specifically on the preservation of aircraft in Canada, the promotion of Canadian aviation history, the sharing of knowledge related to cultural heritage and the aviation industry, as well as the acquisition of aircraft and artifacts significant to Canadian aviation.

The Canada Aviation and Space Museum, home to Canada’s national aeronautical collection, is hosting the 2010 conference as it prepares for the opening of its new wing, which will house a 300-seat auditorium as well as two state of the art classrooms. The opening of the new wing is scheduled for February 23, 2011, in celebration of National Aviation Day.

The CAPA conference will feature general sessions, panel discussions, and presentations, with topics including air and space history, conservation and restoration, exhibit design, fundraising, and marketing. The annual conference also serves as an ideal opportunity for participants to network with colleagues from all regions of Canada. Details can be found on CAPA’s website.

The Canada Aviation and Space Museum is Canada’s finest aviation museum with an internationally recognized aeronautical collection. The Museum, a component of the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation, is located at the intersection of Aviation and Rockcliffe Parkways, just 10 minutes from Parliament Hill.
