"LEGO-NAUTS" VISIT CANADA AVIATION AND SPACE MUSEUM

OTTAWA, March 15, 2012 – The two teenagers who filmed the journey of the Lego figurine they launched into space will be at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum on the occasion of the annual Lego contest.

Last January, Mathew Ho and Asad Muhammad filmed the ascent of a Lego figurine attached to a weather balloon and fitted with a parachute up to an altitude estimated at 24 kM, from where the Earth's curvature and the darkness of space were visible, before coming back down to land and be retrieved by the pair of "Lego-nauts" about 122 kM away from its takeoff point. Video of the figurine's space odyssey has been broadly shared on social networks.
