The Canada Aviation Museum's new web site is cleared for take-off!

Ottawa—In keeping with its reputation for on-line excellence the Canada Aviation Museum will launch a newly redesigned web site on March 22. With a new look and improved navigation, that offers greater accessibility, and even more information, visitors will find it easier to get at the wealth of information available on the Museum’s site, regardless of their chosen browsers.

The Canada Aviation Museum is proud to be the first and only Museum in Canada to have developed a web site designed according to current web standards, and taking great care and consideration to incorporate a new level of accessibility. “As the internet moves towards the use of these standards it is important that a national institution lead the way.“ stated Andrew Macdonald, New Media Officer.

In addition to finding information about the Museum, its programs and over 130 aircraft in the collection, the very popular on-line essays are back with 2 new additions, and the digital archives, an international resource now numbers over 15,000 images up from 8,500. Exciting new animation elements have also been incorporated into and focussed in the new Explore section of the site.

This is the second redesign of the fully bilingual Canada Aviation Museum web site. One of the first and most complete Museum web sites to launch, in 1994, the site now receives 493,000 of page views per year from over five countries.

The Canada Aviation Museum is located at the intersection of the Aviation and Rockcliffe Parkways, just 10 minutes from downtown Ottawa. Hours of the Museum are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday to Sunday. There is plenty of free parking always available.
