Fall Programs & Hours at the Canada Aviation Museum

Ottawa—After Labour Day, the Canada Aviation Museum will change over to fall/winter hours of operation. The new hours are: Wednesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Museum will be closed Mondays and Tuesdays with the exception of holidays and the Christmas and March break periods.

NEW – Family Sunday Afternoons — Begins September 12

Something for everyone waits for you and your family on Sunday Afternoons. Peek into the cockpit of a jet, try on a flight suit, g-suit and helmet, catch one of our informative demonstrations or tours. Children can partake in an airmail scavenger hunt, take an interactive tour tailored just for them and more. Free with admission, these activities are offered every Sunday afternoon.

...For Kids

Sky Stuff – Wednesdays and Thursdays
For one hour each week children ages 2 to 5 are treated to a fun filled skyward adventure featuring storytelling, games, crafts and playful activities. Each week a different aviation theme is explored. Each bilingual session lasts 5 weeks and costs just $25. Sessions begin September 22 and run until May.

Birthday Parties – Year Round
Let us fly around and do the work for you! We offer exciting Birthday Parties for young aviators from toddlers to teens. Each of our four themes is designed for a different age group: Airmail Delivery, Ready for Takeoff, Cessna Flying Party or Crazy for Jets.

Seniors are invited to visit free today, bring a guest and stroll through the Museum’s collection to share their own aviation memories.

Battle of Britain—Sunday, September 19
Each year veterans who participated in this important battle of the Second World War gather to remember. Join them at the Museum for their special annual ceremony marking this historic event.

Centralaires Band Concert Series – Sunday, November 7
“In Memory of Things Past”
Join the Centralaires in a series of concerts that span from fall to spring 2005. Composed of some fifty wind and percussion players, this band’s members include retired military musicians from the Royal Canadian Air Force, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Governor General Foot Guard and Central Bands, local music teachers, as well as other accomplished players. The band is an affiliate of the Air Force Association of Canada. Sure to get you swinging to their tunes, the band will be performing from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m..

Remembrance Day – Thursday, November 11
In observance of Remembrance Day, the Museum extends a special invitation to all veterans, members of the Canadian Forces and their immediate family for a free visit to Canada’s premiere aeronautical collection.

The Canada Aviation Museum, is Canada’s best aviation museum with an internationally renowned aeronautical collection. The Museum is located at the intersection of the Aviation and Rockcliffe Parkways. Admission is $6 for adults; $5 for students; $5 for seniors; and $3 for children 4-15; free for children under 4. A family pass is $14. Free parking. OC Transpo bus #129 Rockcliffe also goes to the Museum.
