An important time to remember

Ottawa—To honour the tremendous contribution of Canada’s veterans in the First World War, the Second World War, the Korean War, and Canadian Forces in peacekeeping missions and operations, the Canada Aviation Museum is pleased to offer free admission to Veterans, Canadian Forces members and their immediate family between November 7 and 14. The Museum will be open on Remembrance Day.

...For Everyone

Centralaires Band Concert – “In Memory of Things Past” – 2 p.m.
Join the Centralaires for the first of a series of four afternoon concerts. The band’s fifty wind and percussion players include retired military musicians from the Royal Canadian Air Force, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Governor General’s Foot Guards, Central Band of the Canadian Forces, local music teachers, and other accomplished players. The band is an affiliate of the Air Force Association of Canada.

The Jet Age – 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.; 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This is your opportunity to take a peek inside the cockpit of the CF-100 Canuck. Try on a flight suit and helmet and make it a perfect photo opportunity.

General Guided Tours
Guided tours of the Museum’s collection will be offered at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.

...For the Kids

Craft Workshops
Kids ages 7 and up will enjoy making a 3-D model of the Supermarine Spitfire. Younger children can make an aviation poppy pin.

Kids’ Tours – noon and 4 p.m.
Children ages 4 to 8 have their own guide to take them on a fun adventure in the Museum to learn all about the aircraft on our pioneer era island.

The Mail Must Fly! – 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Children ages 4 to 8 are invited to assist in delivering the mail throughout the Museum and discover the different aircraft in our collection that were involved in airmail delivery.

The Canada Aviation Museum, is Canada’s best aviation museum with an internationally renowned aeronautical collection. The Museum is located at the intersection of the Aviation and Rockcliffe Parkways. Admission is $6 adults; $5 for students; $5 for seniors; and $3 for children 4-15; free for children under 4. A family pass is $14. Free parking. OC Transpo bus #129 Rockcliffe also goes to the Museum.
