Set a course for the Canada Science and Technology Museum on Lighthouse Days

OTTAWA August 14, 2012 – These faithful sentinels of the seas have steered ships clear of danger, have become landmarks dotting our coasts, and have struck the imagination for centuries.

The Lighthouse Days are the perfect occasion to learn about them from the inside out, and to increase your knowledge of the nautical technologies preserved by the Canada Science and Technology Museum (CSTM) during the August 18-19 week-end.

You will have the chance to tour the Cape North Lighthouse – on of the CSTM's icons – located in Technology Park. You will be moved by the maritime-inspired rhythms of musical group Celtic Sea, which will set the mood for those marine-themed days. Learn more about the modern ways in which the Canadian Coast Guard keeps Canada's waterways safe in the year of its 50th anniversary.
