Rubber: Love it and Lose it, with Sue Warren

One of the earliest plastics, rubber has been part of our lives for over 150 years. Join Sue Warren, Manager of our Conservation group to find out about the challenges of preserving rubber as it loses its elasticity and becomes more brittle. See a variety of artifacts and discover how objects made from this material are preserved over time.

Two Eras, Two Innovations, with Suzanne Beauvais

Join Suzanne Beauvais, Assistant Curator, who will share two recently acquired artifacts that represent innovations from two different periods – an early 20th century device used for storing food, and a modern system to deter birds that are fond of berries.
