Meet the Farm Animals Educational Activity Kit
The cow in the barn goes moo, moo, moo ... Teach kindergarten and primary students about farm animals and their products and by-products with the Meet the Farm Animals educational activity kit developed by the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum. Through activities, games, crafts, songs, and worksheets, students:
- learn the appropriate terms for the names of farm animals
- identify the different body parts of farm animals
- discover the physical characteristics and needs of farm animals
- learn how animals react to their environment by modifying their behaviour and movements
- discover how humans are different from other mammals, birds and insects
- learn how a chick hatches
- discover where milk, eggs, meat, and honey come from
- learn about animal products and by-products
- determine which senses are used when visiting farm animals
The Meet the Farm Animals kit links to curriculum requirements for science and technology, language, mathematics, and the arts. It includes instructions, worksheets, and answer keys.
