Celebrate National Ice Cream Day at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum

OTTAWA, July 16, 2013 – Do you like ice cream? Visit the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum on National Ice Cream Day – Sunday, July 21 – and learn about the journey from cow to cone.

By taking part in the Ice Cream Festival, you can practice your milking technique on the Museum’s wooden cow and get the scoop on how dairying technology now includes milking machines, and even robotic milkers.

Try your hand at an old-fashioned manual ice cream maker, and taste your own yummy creation, as well as gelato, frozen yogurt and an ice cream smoothie.

There will be a special focus placed on the essential role that pollinators play in ice cream production. A local beekeeper will be on site to give visitors the buzz about honeybees (honey will be available to buy).

The Ice Cream Festival is presented by Nestlé’s Skinny Cow™. Come and enjoy a free Skinny Cow Chocolate Truffle Bar or Vanilla Sandwich, or try a Del Monte Raspberry & Blackberry or Peach & Mango frozen bar. (While quantities last.)
