Solo Mission: Self-guided school tour

Let your class explore the Museum in small groups accompanied by adult chaperones. Try a scavenger hunt, visit aircraft cockpits, take in a demonstration — there’s always plenty to see and do at the Museum.

Program Description

In a self-guided tour, you define the program. Students should be divided into small groups, each accompanied by one or more adult chaperones. These groups then explore the Museum according to either guidelines you set out or their own interests (or a combination of the two).

Increase the fun or add a sense of competition with a scavenger hunt (available at the admissions desk). Students can also visit aircraft cockpits and see demonstrations as they explore all aspects of aviation and space.

Timing is up to you, but allowing at least 1 to 2 hours for a self-guided visit is suggested.

Curriculum Links

Self-guided visits are appropriate for all grades. You can create guidelines (for example, examining particular aircraft or viewing certain exhibitions) to align with specific curriculum requirements.
