Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation Launches Newest Mobile Game

OTTAWA, April 26, 2017—The Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation is excited to announce the launch of its fifth mobile game. Building upon the success the first two Ace Academy games, Ace Academy: Skies of Fury explores the period of history known as “Bloody April” in the action-packed skies over the battlefields of Arras. Developed in partnership with SEED Interactive, and released through Illumination Games, Skies of Fury features unmatched gameplay, stunning First World War planes, epic aerial combat, and beautifully handcrafted environments designed with a vintage comic-book aesthetic.

Users experience the game from both sides of the air war, fighting for their lives as both Allied and German pilots. Marking the 100th anniversary of “Bloody April”, the game explores one of the deadliest moments in the air war. Bearing witness to the loss of over 300 Allied pilots and observers, and more than 120 German airmen, Skies of Fury brings this historical period to life.

Skies of Fury is the third in the Corporation’s successful trilogy, following Ace Academy and Ace Academy: Black Flight, which together have been downloaded over 300,000 times in 185 countries.

“Bloody April occurred during a significant period in the development of aircraft for combat, and demonstrated the importance of innovation in winning the war. Ace Academy: Skies of Fury shows how ingenuity, determination and strategy made the Allies a force to be reckoned with during the fierce air war over the Western Front. This is another example of how the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation is reaching beyond its walls to connect with Canadians across the country and with others around the world with creative ways to share our history.”
—Fernand Proulx, Interim President and CEO, Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation
