Boutique Techno-Science Pop-Up Museum Shop Opening on Holland Avenue

OTTAWA, June 5, 2015 – For the month of June, the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation will be opening a special shop in Ottawa to sell products representing its three distinctive museums. This new outpost will be a one-stop shop for anyone who wants to pick up some of the best-selling gifts, toys, and collectibles from the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, and the temporarily closed Canada Science and Technology Museum.

“As cultural institutions, the Museums are always trying new ways to reach out and share Canada’s human stories of science and innovation,” said Alex Benay, the Corporation’s President and CEO. “Having a new physical presence in an Ottawa neighbourhood will act as a reminder to the community of the Corporation’s engaging Museums, where the past meets the future.”

The Museum’s team has selected nearly one hundred items from its inventory to feature in Boutique Techno-Science. All proceeds from sales go directly to help fund Museum acquisitions, exhibitions, and programs.

In addition to boutique items, the store will also sell Memberships and tickets to events like Tee Off Fore Tech and Baconpalooza.
