Library and Archives

The Library and Archives of the Canada Science and Technology Museum holds thousands of books and periodicals, as well as a large collection of trade literature, and several major archival fonds relating to the history of science and technology in Canada.

The holdings of the Library may be searched though our Online Catalogue, or through Worldcat.

The Library and Archives is open to the public and offers a number of library services, including reference, interlibrary loans, and reproduction.

The Library is open to the public on the following days:

  • Wednesday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed noon hour
  • Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed noon hour
  • Weekends and statutory holidays: closed

Before visiting, it’s recommended that you email and make an appointment. This will help to ensure the right staff member is available to help you.

Library and Archives is located at 2380 Lancaster Road, Ottawa, Ontario. Wireless Internet is available. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own cameras in order to copy items for research purposes.
