One Price – Two Fascinating Experiences – A Whole Museum to Discover!

Program Description

End your school year at the museum - where students can participate in two workshops which include a range of activities and dynamic presentations.

Each workshop lasts 40 minutes and your fee includes museum admission.

Choice of workshop times are 9:30 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. or 12:45 p.m.

Workshops Offered

Vitruvian man
(for grades 1 to 8 ON | Elementary Cycle 1 to Secondary Cycle 1 QC)

Come visit our blockbuster exhibit Leonardo da Vinci – 500 Years of Genius and draw inspiration from da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, then, using your math skills see how you measure up.

Gears
(for grades 4 to 8 ON | Elementary Cycle 2 to Secondary Cycle 1 QC)

Come with us into the blockbuster exhibit Leonardo da Vinci – 500 Years of Genius and be inspired by the creation of his many mechanical concepts then learn more about how gears help us in our day to day lives.

Boat Building
(for grades 1-3 ON | Elementary Cycles 1 and 2 QC)

Find out what floats and what doesn’t. Build your own boat or raft for testing in the boatbuilding contest.

Liquid Nitrogen and Chemical Wonders
(for grades 1 to 8 ON | Elementary Cycle 1 to Secondary Cycle 1 QC)
Investigate the world of chemistry that surrounds us! Explore the realm of the super-cold with a liquid nitrogen demonstration and experiment with exciting reactions.

Bridges
(for grades 1 to 6 ON | Elementary Cycle 1 to 3 QC)

Learn about the different types of bridges, and construct your own for the bridge-building contest.

Catapults
(for grades 4 to 8 ON | Elementary Cycles 2 and 3 and Secondary Cycle 1 QC )

Learn about the forces harnessed with catapults and trebuchets. Build your own throwing machine, complete with levers and gears. Experiment with design and test your creation on the target range.

Planetarium and Space
(for grades 1 to 8 ON | Elementary Cycle 1 to Secondary Cycle 1 QC)

Discover the challenges of space travel as you explore our solar system. Handle some rocks from Space, and have a look at the sky in our inflatable planetarium.


Teacher Tips

Make name tags to help the museum educator build rapport with students. Students may bring a lunch or purchase one from the museum’s café.

Teachers may preview the museum free of charge at any time, by presenting proof of their teaching status at the admission desk.

Fees

$9 per student.
A minimum fee of $135 will be charged per group.
