All aboard for National Railway Day at the Canada Science and Technology Museum

On National Railway Day (today, November 7), commemorate an iconic event in Canadian history at the Canada Science and Technology Museum.

See the history of the railroad in Canada for yourself as the Canada Science and Technology Museum displays a selection of commemorative spikes which mark the completion of various historic railway lines in Canada.

Speak with a member of the Bytown Railway Society and learn about the operational history and recent restoration of the Royal Hudson locomotive (CPR 2858) in the museum.

Climb into the cab of an enormous locomotive in the Locomotive Hall, and join museum staff for a behind-the-scenes visit of locomotives and rolling-stock being housed and worked on in the storage and restoration areas.
