McLaughlin-Buick 28-496
Model Year: 1928 (model year) built in 1927
Location of Manufacture: Oshawa, Ontario
Dashboard
The artistry of the car’s interior design is seen in the elegant curved moulding and the rich bird’s-eye maple panelling on the dashboard. The maple panelling is simulated – it is actually made of ink and paint!
Passenger seating
The Royal Party travelled in the height of comfort, on plush seats covered with rich lizard skin. In the days before air conditioning, open sides would have made the summer drives more comfortable, while also giving Canadians a better view of the future King.
Branding
